Everything You Need To Know About WIN Summit 2020: Women Lead The Way
About
Extreme pressures on women and increased uncertainties are driving the need for new solutions, new structures, and new leadership skills.
For the first time ever, WIN Summit 2020 will be hosted virtually. Traditionally, our summit has been held each year in New York City. Women came together over the course of a single day to learn how to elicit strategic information in a negotiation, counteract bias, and learn how to leverage their power and bargaining position.
We’re bringing our unique workshops and panels with practical, yet powerful strategies to the digital stage. This year’s summit will center around three themes: negotiation, diversity, and leadership. Led by renowned professors, distinguished thought leaders, and top industry leaders, we’re bringing together inspirational women for powerful discussions and lessons.
Aspire for more, step into your power, and embrace the future as women lead the way. Join us this Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

On the day of the event, Tuesday, December 8th, you will be sent an email with a link to our event. The event will be hosted on the virtual venue Hopin. You can access the event by logging in to your Hopin account. You will not need to download anything additional. Through Hopin, you’ll be able to access the Main Stage, all of the sessions, each of the networking opportunities, and the exhibit hall with links to a Job Board and Bookstore.
Every session will be live, and the content is specifically designed to be watched in real-time. Accessibility: We will be offering captioning when we can throughout the live event in the workshops. But the captioning will be limited. All of our recordings for the event will be accessibility-friendly and will include closed captioning. Please contact us if you have any questions about accessibility at info@winsummit.com.
What to Prepare
The event will be hosted on the virtual venue Hopin. You’ll be able to tune in to each of our sessions from either your phone or your computer. Please note: Hopin is optimized for a desktop or laptop computer, and we highly recommend using your Mac or PC to attend WIN Summit 2020.
1. Create your Hopin profile.
Once you register for WIN Summit and log in to your Hopin account, on their dashboard you can easily edit and update your individual profile. When you first register for the summit on Hopin, you will be greeted by the WIN Summit 2020 Event page. If you go to Hopin.com, you can log in with the account email and password you registered with and will enter the Hopin Dashboard. In either scenario, you can click the bright blue button on the top right corner and scroll to either “Profile” or “Edit Profile”. Here you will be able to upload a profile photo, add a brief bio, and highlight some of the things you think are noteworthy about yourself. You can even link to your personal website or LinkedIn profile. This will help other attendees easily identify and get to know you. You can share as much or as little as you want in your profile.
2. Find a quiet place to watch.
Try to situate yourself in a room that does not have a lot of echo or background noise so you’ll be able to hear all the great advice from our experts. Keep your headphones handy if your home is not able to accommodate a quiet space. Minimize your distractions: try to stay away from noisy electronics and silence your cell phone and computer notifications. A strong WiFi connection will ensure you stay connected
3. Arm yourself with a notebook and pen!
You won’t want to miss out on jotting down notes.
4. Dress for success.
There will be opportunities to meet with representatives from companies and attendees during the event. Be prepared for live video-chats with other attendees throughout the day and during our distinguished networking sessions.
You can familiarize yourself with the Hopin platform through this brief demo video:

Reception
Once the event opens, you’ll be welcomed to the Reception area. Here you can look over the schedule and be welcome upon arrival with a quick video. Return to the Reception area at any time to see which sessions are live and which ones are coming up next.
Networking
Our built-in networking allows you to network like you would at an in-person event. Discover connections. Chat with other attendees over the built-in event and session chat. Find other attendees in the attendee directory to connect directly. Instead of attending a session or in between sessions, you can head to the networking tab to be paired randomly and meet with other attendees via live video.
12:30 - 1:00 PM | Brown Bag Lunch Discussions
Grab your lunch and come sit down for a quick discussion. You can find your lunch table in the Sessions tab. Network with a small group of women via live video. Topics of discussion will be broadcasted across the event to stimulate conversation.
4:00 - 4:30 PM | Structured Networking
During our structured networking session, you will be paired randomly with other attendees for one-on-one conversations via live video. This networking session will be done speed-dating style, so you will be paired with a new person every 3 minutes with topics broadcasted across the event chat.
Exhibit Hall
Head to the Exhibit Hall at any time to visit our virtual vendor booths. With a dedicated chatroom, you can speak directly with a representative of the company or learn more about the organization’s products and services.
Bookstore
Many of our inspiring speakers have written phenomenal books. We’ve made it very easy to purchase your own copy of their work through our online virtual bookstore. You can enter the bookstore through it’s exhibit hall booth. Purchase yours for Christmas gifts for your friends, family, coworkers, or even a self-care gift for yourself!
Job Board
This year has been tough for many. Whether you are newly graduated, were furloughed, or are looking to make a new career move, we’ve curated a job board with opportunities from companies that are forward-thinking and focused on diversity in their workplaces. Check out these opportunities by visiting the Job Board booth in the Exhibit Hall.
